The Hannibal Middle School football team played two games at two different locations Tuesday night. The Pirate A-Team beat Moberly 22-0 while the Hannibal B-Team lost to Mark Twain 38-0.
In the Hannibal A-Team’s game, Billy Smashey led the Pirates’ ground game with a pair touchdowns while Cade Liller scored once for Hannibal. Defensively, Clayton Robertson picked off a pass for the Pirates.
The Mark Twain Junior High football B-Team finished its season with a 38-0 rout of the Hannibal Middle School B-Team Tuesday night.
The Tigers had no problem with their running game as Conner Grossmann led Mark Twain with 189 yards on the ground and three rushing TDs.
But Grossmann wasn’t the only Tiger running back to have success as Lincoln Talbot finished with 94 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Talbot also had 41 yards passing on the night.
Defensively, the Tigers were all over the field as they forced three Hannibal turnovers.
Tyler Jackson and Michael Waldmeier each had an interception for the Tigers while Grossmann recovered a fumble. Will MacFarlane forced a fumble and led Mark Twain with 5 tackles.
With the win, the Mark Twain B-Team finished its season with a 3-2 record.
