    William “Bill” G. Schwanke, Sr., 84, of Hannibal, Missouri, died at 4:05 a.m. Friday, September 14, 2012 at Beth Haven Nursing Home in Hannibal.
    Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at the James O’Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal. Mr. Rodger Lane will officiate. Burial will be at Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal.

    William “Bill” G. Schwanke, Sr., 84, of Hannibal, Missouri, died at 4:05 a.m. Friday, September 14, 2012 at Beth Haven Nursing Home in Hannibal.  
    Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at the James O’Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal. Mr. Rodger Lane will officiate. Burial will be at Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal.
    Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the James O’Donnell Funeral Home.
    Full Military Honors by Emmette J. Shields American Legion Post #55 will be at Grand View Burial Park.
    Mr. Schwanke was born May 19, 1928, in Hannibal to William E. and Wilma Gould Schwanke.
    He was married to Carolyn Stull on November 27, 1975 in Hannibal, MO. She survives.
    Other survivors include children, Nora Meadows (Tom) of Independence, MO, William Gould Jr.(Linda) Kansas City, MO, Margaret St. Clair (Robert) of New London, MO, Danny Joe Schwanke of New London, MO,  Diana Kay Goodman (Terry) of Oak Grove, MO, Melody Johnston (John) of Hannibal, MO, Jenny Waelder (Frank) of Hannibal, MO, Carol Jamison (Steve) of Quincy, IL, Tina Ward (Donnie) of Hannibal, MO; daughter in law, Tammy Schwanke; brothers and sisters, Patsy Miller, Bettie Giest (Jay), Yvonne Miller, Melba Bowles (John), Martha Gould (Donald), Ardyth Parrick (Jay), Margaret Crabill (Lindell), Evelyn Peuster, Dean Schwanke (Shirley), Kenneth Schwanke (Sharon); numerous grandchildren, great grand children and great great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; and many friends.
    He is preceded in death by his parents, 3 children, Wilma Charlene Schwanke, Richard Lee Schwanke and James Edward Schwanke; and 1 brother, John Gerald Schwanke.
    Mr. Schwanke was a United States Army Veteran. He served during the Korean War and earned a Purple Heart. He worked as an auto body mechanic for 28 years. Bill enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family, kids and grand kids. Mr. Schwanke was a Baptist by faith.
    Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or the Shriners Children Hospital in care of the James O’Donnell Funeral Home.
    Pallbearers will be Rob St. Clair, Omar Ghattas, Shawn Schwanke, Cody Schwanke, James Crews, Evan Jamison, Chandler Waelder, and J.W. Johnston.
    Honorary pallbearers will be Austin Ward, Mason Ward, Abbey Ward, Tatum Crews and Chase Jamison.
