  • Palmyra scored 23 second-half points against Highland Friday night to capture their second straight win and even their record at 2-2.
    A 24-yard touchdown pass from Brock Butler to Jordan Nutt started the comeback at 2:34 of the third, making the score 8-6.
    Palmyra took its first lead of the night with 8:42 to play in the fourth quarter on an 18-yard run by Dilan Parrish, who led the PHS ground attack with 127 yards on 14 carries.
    Palmyra added an insurance touchdown at 6:55 remaining on a 30-yard punt return by Caleb Kiser.
    Offensively, the Panthers rolled up 346 total yards, 233 of which came on the ground. Highland was held to 82 yards of offense.
    Standouts on defense for Palmyra were Bobby Gruenloh (6.5 tackles), Case Doyle (1.5 sacks), Caleb Kizer (one interception) and Alec Bland (one interception).
    Palmyra returns to action Friday at home against Louisiana, a 50-28 loser at Mark Twain on Friday. Highland, 0-4, plays at Macon Friday.
