Unbeaten Brookfield continued its winning ways Friday night as it knocked off winless Monroe City.
The 40 points scored represented a season high for the Bulldogs. Monroe City’s 10 points marked a high water mark for the Panthers.
Brookfield, which built a 13-0 lead in the first quarter, led 19-3 at the half. The Bulldogs put the game away with 14 third quarter points.
Offensively, Monroe City’s ground game was led by Tyler Hetheriton with 66 yards on 12 carries.
Grant O’Bryan led the Panthers defensively with 15 total tackles. Also in double figures were Tariq Garner (12 hits) and Blake Grice (11 hits).
Monroe City, 0-4, returns home Friday night to face South Shelby, which lost its second straight game on Friday night, losing 26-8 to Centralia. Brookfield goes to Centralia in what will be a battle of unbeaten teams.
