Ellison Smith Eichor, 90, of Maywood, Missouri, passed away Saturday, September 8, 2012 at the Country Aire Retirement Estates in Lewistown, MO. Ellison was born October 29, 1921 in Hannibal, MO to Harry Raymond and Ruth Hall Eichor. He was married to Reghnald Pauline Cummings April 22, 1942 at the Palmyra Christian Church. She survives of the home.

Ellison Smith Eichor, 90, of Maywood, Missouri, passed away Saturday, September 8, 2012 at the Country Aire Retirement Estates in Lewistown, MO. Ellison was born October 29, 1921 in Hannibal, MO to Harry Raymond and Ruth Hall Eichor. He was married to Reghnald Pauline Cummings April 22, 1942 at the Palmyra Christian Church. She survives of the home.
Survivors include: daughter, Virginia (Bennie) DeVerger of Maywood, MO; son, Matthew (Linda) Eichor of Greentop, MO; grandchildren: Reggie (Fred) Westhoff of Monticello, MO; LaDonna (Shawn) Burchett of Monticello, MO; Jennifer (Charlee) Andersen of Blue Hill, NE; Natalie (Mark) Meighan of Moberly, MO; great grandchildren: Geoffrey (Katherine) Westhoff of Lake St. Louis, MO; Gregory Westhoff of Monticello; Benjamin Westhoff of St. Charles, MO; Autumn Westhoff of Monticello; ReAnn (Josh) Wright of Durham, MO; Alex (Kristy) Frieden of Monticello; Ginnie Sue Murphy of Monticello; Mason Burchett of Monticello; Nicholas Andersen of Blue Hill, NE; Gabriel Andersen of Blue Hill, NE; great great grandchildren: Cosea Cisco, Trinity Wright, and Gary Wright of Durham; Evan Frieden and Logan Frieden of Monticello. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Raymond Eichor; a granddaughter, Tonya Kristine Eichor; and a great nephew, Christopher Eichor.
Mr. Eichor was a 1940 graduate of Durham High School. After graduation, he joined the United States Army during World War II. Following his service he returned home to become a Marion County farmer, cattleman, and hog producer.  Ellison enjoyed his special pets, Pickles and Scratch and being with his many grandchildren.  Holidays were especially fun often being knee deep in Christmas or birthday wrapping paper.
He was a member of the Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church and the American Legion.
A service in celebration of his life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at the Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church in Taylor, MO.  Rev. Steve Martin will officiate. Burial with military honors will be at the Lewistown Cemetery in Lewistown, MO. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel in Palmyra, MO. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church and/or Blessing Hospital Cancer Center.  Memorials may be left at or mailed to Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel, 424 S. Main Street, Palmyra, MO 63461.
