DreamCatchers was established in 2007 by Matt Clark, after he learned about a similar program in North Dakota.
There are three softball games scheduled for the last three Saturdays in September. The game consists of four innings with everyone getting to bat and the last batter hitting a grand slam. Each player gets to bat each inning and there are no outs or score.
About 25 to 30 players are expected to play in this year’s games. Each player has a buddy, making sure the players don’t get hurt.
Sponsors pay for lunch and a T-shirt and cap for each player. Hannibal Parks & Recreation Department provides the field at Huckleberry Park.
The games, which begin at 11 a.m., are Sept. 15, 22 and 29. In case of rain, the games will be played at the Hannibal Evangelical Free Church, 245 N Levering St.
