Rosetta Ellen (Rosie) Calvert, 90, of Palmyra, Mo., died at 2:25 p.m. Tuesday at her home.

Rosetta Ellen (Rosie) Calvert, 90, of Palmyra, Mo., died at 2:25 p.m. Tuesday at her home.
Rosie was born July 4, 1922, in Hannibal, Mo., to George F. and Lena B. Edwards Snyder.
Rosie married Robert G. Calvert Jan. 12, 1951, in Palmyra, Mo. He preceded her in death March 10, 2011.     
She is survived by daughters, Peggy (David) Ramthun of Palmyra and Glenna (Randall) Strachan of Palmyra; sister-in-law, Toni Rash of Shelbina; grandchildren, Chrissie (Mike) Pollacchi of Chicago, Ill.; Nathan (Stephanie) Yost of Fort Leonard Wood, Mo.; Dustin (Leah) Strachan of Hannibal; Erica (Trey) Martin of Hannibal; Emily Strachan of Palmyra; and Danielle (Paul) Hirner of Palmyra; great-grandchildren, Alxis and Braydon Strachan of Hannibal; Savannah, Colton and Skyler Martin of Hannibal; Olivia Yost of Quincy; Kate and Natalie Pollacchi of Chicago; and Christian daughter, Deanna Sharkey of Hannibal.
Rosie was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Patricia Ann Calvert; brother, Hank Snyder; and sisters, Eileen Poppe, Audrey Gossage and Agnes Whitaker.  
Rosie was a 1942 graduate of Palmyra High School, and after marriage was a farm wife and homemaker. She enjoyed reading and gardening. Rosie was an active member of Mission Hill Baptist Church in Palmyra and was an assistant at Mission Hill Christian Academy. She taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School at Emden Baptist Church in her early years.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012, at Mission Hill Baptist Church in Palmyra. Pastor Kent Lewis and Dr. Don Brodhacker will officiate. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Palmyra, Mo.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to Mission Hill Baptist Church building fund  or Community Loving Care Hospice.
Pallbearers are Nathan Yost, Dustin Strachan, Trey Martin, Mike Pollacchi, Paul Hirner and Alan Heimer.
Honorary pallbearers are Braydon Strachan, Colton Martin, John Poppe, Ronnie Bridgeman and Art Buckwalter.
