  • Larry Joshua Dye, 31, of Hannibal, Mo., died at the scene of a pedestrian-truck accident at 10:45 a.m. Monday, July 2, in Ste. Genevieve County, Mo.
    The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported the accident was on southbound I-55 one mile north of Route Y.
    Due to construction, the left lane of southbound I-55 was closed to traffic.
    Officers reported Dye, a pedestrian construction worker, was picking up signs. He attempted to cross southbound I-55 and was struck by a construction truck, which was backing northbound in the closed lane.
    The 1995 Ford dump truck was driven by Donald L. Wallace, 56, of Mansfield, Mo. He was not injured.
    Dye was pronounced dead at 10:54 a.m. Monday by Ste. Genevieve County Coroner Leo Basler.
    Funeral arrangements are pending at the James O’Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal.
