  • Jason Birdno is currently behind bars at the Monroe County Jail.
He is being held on $75,000 cash-only bond (reduced from $150,000) after being arrested May 17 and charged with five counts of first-degree statutory sodomy.
According to court documents, the female victim who is now 13-years-old, “was forced” by Birdno, age 36. Charges date back to Christmas Eve 2006 and as recent as May 1, 2011.
The probable cause statement in the case indicates Birdno began living at the residence with the alleged victim Christmas Eve 2006 and an investigation revealed utilities to the residence — where several sexual incidents took place in both bathrooms, a bedroom, the garage and a dog pen — at 822 Second St. in Monroe City, were turned on in Birdno’s name, December 2006.
A search warrant was issued a month and a half ago, May 16, and items recovered were described by the victim during a forensic interview; including items that appeared to have bodily fluids.
Court documents reveal four of the five counts of first-degree statutory sodomy is punishable by imprisonment in the custody of the Missouri Department of Corrections for life or for a term of not less than five years. The fourth count has a punishment of life in prison or a term of no more than 10 years.
Birdno’s case has been moved to Audrain County court in Mexico, Mo. He is scheduled for a hearing before Judge Linda Hamlett at 9 a.m. Wednesday, July 11.
