  • Hannibal police are continuing their investigation after a meth lab was discovered late Saturday afternoon in the 100 block of North 11th St.
At approximately 5:30 p.m., police were called to the Laura Hawkins high-rise apartments on the report of a strong chemical odor. While officers found a meth lab, no arrests were made.
According to a resident of the area, it appeared someone was taken from the scene by police. The same individual also told the Courier-Post there had been an explosion, but police say there was no fire or explosion.
“The people who lived there (where the meth lab was found) were known to be drug users,” said the person, who declined to provide his name.
