  • How did you end up as a Hannibal Regional Hospital volunteer? My husband died in 1997 and January and February of 1998 we had more than 20 days of gloomy and cold weather. I decided I had to find something to do. So I volunteer.

What are two memories from your volunteer work that stick with you the most? I worked in the one-day surgery waiting rooms and one day I had 35 families scattered around to keep track of. At the Cancer Center a young man finally told me he would like a pillow.
What do you most like about your volunteer work? It is something to do with a chance to help others. I also like the get togethers and being with a group, keeping up with their families and their loved ones.
What advice do you have for potential volunteers?
Volunteer and you will change your life. Helping others is a good feeling.
Family: Lewis, Kenneth, Deborah Francis and Marla walker.
Interests: Knitting, crocheting and other handwork.
