Mark Twain Lake Project employees are monitoring rising lake levels due to recent heavy amounts of precipitation in the watershed. The lake is expected to crest 17 feet above normal pool a 623 NGVD with no additional precipitation.


Mark Twain Lake Project employees are monitoring rising lake levels due to recent heavy amounts of precipitation in the watershed. The lake is expected to crest 17 feet above normal pool a 623 NGVD with no additional precipitation.
Major boat launch facilities and campgrounds are open although a few areas, such as smaller access areas will be closed. These include the Joanna and Lick Creek Trails and
Hunter-Fisherman Access No. 11 (Route N), Access 20 (Hwy FF), Access 53 and 54 (Monroe County Road 670 and 649), Access 30 (Route U) and the Duane Wheelan Access. John Spalding and Indian Creek beaches will remain closed until further notice.
Boaters will find floating and submerged debris on the lake as the water rises. The Corps urges boaters to be cautious, drive slowly and always wear a life jacket.
