As of approximately 3 p.m. Thursday, the Hannibal Inn and former Comfort Inn were no longer behind in their bed-tax payments.
“They are now completely current,” said Beau Hicks, executive director of the Hannibal Convention and Visitors Bureau.
The two businesses, which are both owned by Al Patel, had not paid their bed-tax since last November. Patel had been given until Thursday by City Collector Phyllis Nelson to make arrangements to pay the bed-tax debt.
Patel was out of the country for a family emergency during a portion of the time that the bed taxes were not paid.
