A Hannibal driver faces multiple charges and her passenger is accused of drug possession after a traffic stop.
It happened at 11:36 p.m. Wednesday on Warren Barrett Drive near Sixth Street.
Police say the driver, 43-year-old Sherrie S. Corum, was arrested for driving while intoxicated, resisting arrest and failure to keep in the right lane of traffic.
After being released on a summons to appear in court, police say Corum refused to let someone else drive her home and was approached by officers as she tried to get into her car.
Authorities said Corum yelled obscenities, physically resisted officers and struck at one of them. She was cited again for assault on a law enforcement officer, unnecessary noise and peace disturbance. Corum was taken to the Marion County Jail in Palmyra.
Corum’s passenger, 46-year-old Janice M. Bowen, was arrested on a charge of possession of a controlled substance. She was released on a court summons.
