  • In regard to Gary King’s letter to the editor (Jan. 27, 2009) regarding the recent BPW billing and comments on RiverTalk about the same subject.
    Seems to me there needs to be a HC-P story where the “powers that be” attempt to explain why we (me included) are being charged for December usage on our current electric bills, at a rate that didn’t take effect until Jan. 1, 2009. Phone calls to BPW’s office apparently generate little or no explanation or justification.
    And arguments about the inability to “split” rates on a single bill aren’t acceptable. If they can “move the rates forward” two weeks, they could have just as easily delayed the implementation two weeks for the next billing cycle when all usage would have been at the new rate.
