The Palmyra boys’ basketball team had a chance to end a 16-year drought Saturday night, but came up short, falling to Canton in the 72nd Annual Tony Lenzini Tournament in Palmyra. Entering play, Canton had won the last two Tony Lenzini Tournaments and went on to beat the Palmyra 61-51 to claim its third straight title."The boys were disappointed," Palmyra coach Brian Meny said. "We felt like we had an opportunity to win that game, and we did."

Ryan B. Cowden, 22, of Center, Mo., went by ambulance to Hannibal Regional Hospital for treatment of moderate injuries suffered in a one-vehicle crash at 5:50 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 25, on Route H 1.5 miles north of Center in Ralls County.
