A 49-year-old northeast Missouri man has pleaded not guilty to several charges connected to allegations that he killed a neighbor, dismembered the body and tossed the victim’s arms at bystanders.
Paul R. Potter pleaded not guilty this week in Adair County court to charges including first-degree murder and armed criminal action in the January death of 74-year-old Willis Edward Meredith at a Kirksville apartment complex.

Christopher L. Myers, 910 Church, Hannibal, (born 1989) was granted a suspended imposition of sentence by Judge Rachel Bringer Shepherd in Ralls County Circuit Court at New London on March 5. He had been charged with two counts of theft/stealing, both Class C felonies. He was arrested by the Ralls County Sheriff’s Department in September 2012. The theft involved farm equipment reported stolen from Sunnyside Lane in rural Hannibal in October 2011.
