Fred and Dolores Helbing will be celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary on Nov. 22, 2011. Mr. Fred Helbing and Miss Dolores Rosser were united in marriage on Nov. 22, 1951, at the Southside Christian Church in Hannibal, Mo. The Rev. Marion Rolan officiated the double-ring ceremony. The bridal party included the best man, Billy Rex Browngard, the maid of honor, Ginger Hartwhig, groomsmen, Dale Tischer, Bill Johnson and Jack Walker, and the bridesmaids, George Ann Basman, Audrey Carpentar and Rosalee Reibel.
Mr. ad Mrs. Helbing made their home in the Hannibal area. They had five children, Deana Wood, Ewing, Mo., Fred Helbing and wife Lynn, New London, Mo., the late John Helbing and wife Lorna, Florence, S.C., Tim Helbing and wife Debi, New London, Mo., and Ann Turner and husband Jay, New London, Mo. They have nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Helbing worked in the maintenance department at Cyanamid and retired in 1997 after working there 30 years.
Mrs. Helbing was a homemaker and substitute teacher for many years. They made their home church at Immanuel Baptist in Hannibal, Mo., and are now members at Saverton Community Church in Saverton.
