Vannice ~ 50th

On Sunday, Nov. 22, 2009, Alton and Joyce Vannice of rural Hannibal will celebrate the 50th anniversary of their marriage at a reception from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Palmyra United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall in Palmyra.
The couple was wed at Mount Olivet United Methodist Church near Taylor, Mo., on Nov. 25, 1959. Officiating the ceremony was Rev. Al Mitchner. Attendants were Bonnie Nelson and the late Charlie Johnston. Mr. Vannice is the son of the late Leonard and Eva Vannice. Mrs. Vannice is the daughter of the late John W. and Thelma Baxter.
Mr. and Mrs. Vannice farmed together, side by side, for numerous years until retiring in 2004. The couple has two children, daughter, Diana Stephens and husband, Stan of Hutsonville, Ill.; and son, Greg VanNice and wife, Rhonda of rural Hannibal. They are the grandparents of six grandchildren.
