Donald and Sherry Stolte of rural Payson, Ill., marked their 55th wedding anniversary with dining and fellowship with their children, family and friends.
The couple was married Nov. 10, 1956, at Southside Christian Church in Hannibal, Mo.
Mrs. Stolte is a daughter of the late Roy and Rowena Ardrey of Hannibal. Mr. Stolte is a son of the late Walter and Thelma Stolte of New Canton.
They are the parents of Darla Ann Moon of Midland, Texas, Donald Zane Stolte of Houston,  Texas, Dinah Bounds of Kansas City, Mo., and Darren Stolte of Payson. They have 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Mr. and Mrs. Stolte have lived in rural Payson for 46 years. Mr. Stolte retired from K and B Builders in West Quincy, Mo., after 40 years. Mrs. Stolte has had many businesses over the years including second-hand sales and animal breeding.
They ministered with their children for many years in local jails and many Missouri prisons. The ministry included a family band that lasted nearly 25 years. Mr. Stolte and his son Darren, as well as granddaughter Danielle, have ministered in the Philippines since the late 1980s. Mr. Stolte still ministers in many churches. They also operate a fireworks display company with their son Darren.
