Ronald Woodrow Powell and Louise Maxine (McCubbins) Powell will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Nov. 11, 2011.
The couple was married at Louisiana, Mo., on Nov. 11, 1961, in the home of Rev Lett. Attendants were Jack Ray Powell and Rosie Francis Stolberg.
The bride is the daughter of the late William Albert and Lula Mae McCubbins. The groom is the son of the late Robie Ray and Mary Loraine Powell.
Ronald has worked at the Hannibal Shoe Factory, a blacksmith shop in Center, Mo., and John Deere in Monroe City. The couple moved to Warren township, Monroe City, Mo., where they currently reside. Ronald and his brother established the “Powell Brothers” entity. He later retired from farming. Louise worked at Semores in Monroe City. She retired from 25 years of service at Kuhlman Diecasting in Monroe City.
Their children include Ronald W. Powell Jr., and Diana J. Shuck; grandchildren, Christopher Shuck (Ashley), Rachel Leake (Joseph) and Katie Shuck; and two great-grandchildren. Also, Parthenia Gordon (Parky) included in the home.
Both are active at the Warren Baptist Church. Ronald is currently an active deacon and the superintendent of the church.
