Judith (Judy) Ann Rouse and Gary Francis Carpenter of Hannibal, will be celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary on Aug. 15, 2010.
The couple was married on August 15, 1970, at Southside Baptist Church in Hannibal. Rev. Donald Craig officiated. Their attendants were: junior bridesmaid, sister of bride, Marla Rouse Frese; maid of honor, cousin of bride, Sherri Krigbaum Lee; best man, cousin of bride, Wesley Krigbaum.
The couple’s children and grandchildren gave them a surprise weekend getaway gift to celebrate their anniversary.
Judy is the daughter of the late Robert (Bob) E. Rouse and Frances M. Rouse Golden.
Gary is the son of the late Virgil F. Carpenter and the late Goldie C. Carpenter.
Their children are: son, Scott Carpenter and wife, Nicole LaCroix Carpenter and their son, Haden Cole Carpenter of Wildwood, Mo.; daughter, Christy Wright and husband, Bryan Wright and their daughters, Callie Christine and Addison Bryann Wright of Hannibal.
Gary is retired from Harris Corporation Broadcast Division in Quincy, Ill., after 36 years.
Judy currently works for KHMO, KICK-FM, Y101 and WLIQ as a community event coordinator.
The couple enjoys spending time with grandchildren and family; and traveling, especially to Sanibel Island, Fla.
