Today, Sept. 12, Ronnie and Shelia Radford will celebrate 50 years of marriage.
They were united on that day in 1959 at the Oakwood First Baptist Church in Hannibal, by the Reverend Eugene Turner.
Ron’s best man was his friend Darrell Golden. Shelia’s sister Lynda Anderson Rubemeyer Lambert stood with her.
Ronnie parents are the late Henry Arley Radford and Eileen Dixon Radford of Hannibal.
Shelia’s parents are Barbara Anderson and the late Charles W. Anderson.
Ron retired Oct. 1, 2001, with 42 years of service from Southwestern Bell. Shelia was a waitress for a span of 30 years.
Their four sons are: the late Ronald Charles (Lil’ Ronnie); Daniel Lee (Rebecca) and their sons, Daniel Lee II and Charles David Radford of Audbrey, Texas; Thad Warren of the home; and Chad Don ( Colleen) of Marana, Ariz., and daughter Christiane.
Ron and Shelia’s children and their family are having a party at 8 p.m. today, at the Eagle Bluff Golf Course and Restaurant in Clarksville. Family and friends are invited to attend.
