Canton man injured

Johnathan M. McReynolds, 21, of Canton, suffered moderate injuries in a one-car accident at 1:19 p.m. Saturday, July 4, in rural Monroe County. He was taken by ambulance to Hannibal Regional Hospital.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, McReynolds was a passenger in a 2002 Ford on Monroe County Road 581 1.6 miles east of Route HH. The car was driven by Barry K. Matthes, 20, of Fenton. Matthes was not injured.
Officers said the car went into a skid and hit a guard rail twice. Both occupants were wearing seat belts.
