Two hurt in Pike County accident

The driver and passenger in a car were injured in a one-vehicle accident Monday morning in Pike County.
The accident happened at 4:50 a.m. on Highway NN, west of Pike County Road 274, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. A 1998 Dodge Stratus driven by 18-year-old Christopher Sutton of Lomax, Ill., was traveling southbound on Highway NN when the car ran off the road, struck an embankment and overturned, coming to rest on its roof.
Sutton sustained moderate injuries. His passenger, 20-year-old Ryan Bennett of Middleton, was left with minor injuries. Both men were wearing safety devices at the time of the accident. They were taken by private vehicle to Pike County Memorial Hospital.
