Marion County —

Wesley R. Griffith, 22, and his passenger, Alexandria L. Cannon had serious injuries and Griffith minor injuries. Neither was wearing a seat belt.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol in Macon reported the collision occurred on U.S. 61 at Route F. Officers said Griffith was driving a westbound 2004 Ford pickup truck and attempted to cross the highway, pulling into the path of a 1999 Kenworth driven by Brandon S. Curnutt, 32, of Gower.

After the Griffith truck was hit by the tractor-trailer, it and went off the highway and overturned.

Curnutt was not injured. He was wearing a seat belt.
Marion County fire and rescue personnel assisted the state patrol at the scene.
