Canton woman dies in traffic accident

Wet conditions are being blamed for a fatal accident involving a Canton woman Thursday afternoon in Clark County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident happened at 1:05 p.m. on U.S. 61, three miles south of Alexandria. A 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix was being driven north by 26-year-old Ashley Fuller when the vehicle began to hydroplane. The car ran off the road, overturned and came to rest on its top in a drainage ditch.
Fuller, who was not wearing a safety device at the time of the accident, died at the scene.
The fatality was the 19th this year in Troop B.
