Child injured in Lincoln County crash

A Hawk Point youngster was left with minor injuries following a two-vehicle accident in Lincoln County Wednesday night.
The accident occurred on Missouri 47, approximately 70 feet east of Route A, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. A westbound 2002 Jeep Cherokee, driven by 26-year-old Carrie Stroud of Hawk Point, was stopped in traffic on Missouri 47 when a 1996 Dodge Neon, driven by 17-year-old Emily Schien of Winfield, made a right-hand turn on westbound Missouri 47. While making the turn the front left part of the Neon struck the left side of the Cherokee.
Madison Spies, a 6-year-old passenger in the Stroud vehicle, was injured. The child, who was wearing a safety device at the time of the accident, was taken to Lincoln County Hospital by Lincoln County Ambulance.
