Monroe City mom, daughter hurt in accident

A Monroe City mother and daughter suffered minor injuries in a one-vehicle accident Monday evening in Ralls County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at 8 p.m. on Route W, one mile east of Monroe City. A 2004 Chevrolet was being driven east by 32-year-old Melinda Salsman when the vehicle traveled off the right side of the road. After returning briefly to the road, the vehicle again traveled off the road, this time striking a telephone pole. The vehicle also rolled over, coming to rest on its top.
In addition to the driver, her 4-year-old daughter, Macilyn Salsman, was also injured in the wreck. Both were transported by Monroe City Ambulance to Hannibal Regional Hospital.
