HANNIBAL | Hannibal Kiwanis Club members deliberated and discussed the safety of the community regarding the spread of COVID-19. At the direction of national and state recommended mandates limiting groups to 50 people or less, Hannibal Kiwanis Club members will postpone the Hannibal Evening Kiwanis 2020 Pancake Day.

The 2020 Kiwanis Pancake Day Event was initially planned for Saturday, April 11, at the Hannibal High School Cafeteria. Organizers will reschedule this event for later in the year, and they assured ticket-holders that all tickets purchased for the event will be honored at that time. If the Kiwanis Club is unable to reschedule the event for this year, all Pancake Day tickets dated 2020 will be honored in 2021, (tickets must be presented at the event).

Kiwanis Club representatives will send out more information once a new date and location have been determined. Club members reminded everyone to stay safe out there and thanked them for their understanding. This was not an easy decision to make, however the Kiwanis Club's continuing mission to help community children and the less fortunate means organizers must await a safer time for the Pancake Day event.

Answers to any further questions are available on the Hannibal Evening Kiwanis website at www.hannibalkiwanis.org or their Facebook page, @HannibalEveningKiwanis.

In Case You Missed It

The Missouri high school spring sports season will be delayed until at least the beginning of May due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Most local schools have canceled classes until May 1, and will re-evaluate the situation as it gets closer to that date. The best case scenario would have high school sports resume soon after.
