Child Center hires new director of development

HANNIBAL | The Child Center, Inc., a nonprofit responding to child abuse by reducing the trauma to children and their families, announced the hiring of Heather Kemper-Hussey as its new Director of Development. Kemper-Hussey oversees the Development Office and is responsible for expanding fundraising and community engagement efforts for the organization.

“We are pleased to add Heather to our team,” said Elphanie (Sissy) Swift, executive director of The Child Center, Inc. “Her expertise and ambition will surely advance The Child Center's development in the coming years.”

Kemper-Hussey graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications/ Public Relations from the University of Missouri, Columbia. She received a Master's in Writing from Lindenwood University.

“I'm eager to work on behalf of an organization like The Child Center, whose mission I hold dear,” said Heather Kemper-Hussey.

The Child Center's service area includes 14 counties: St. Charles, Lincoln, Warren, Montgomery, Pike, Ralls, Marion, Monroe, Shelby, Lewis, Clark, Knox, Scotland and Schuyler – with offices in Hannibal and Wentzville.
